1934 Kalamazoo KG-11 Senior

SOLD | 1934 Kalamazoo KG-11 Senior. This is a ladder braced small powerhouse that is easy to play and sounds like a 1930s blues record! The Senior is the fancier version of the Gibson-made Kalamazoo KG-11, sporting binding on the top AND the back. Red spruce top, mahogany back, sides and neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and lacquered bridge, very cool firestripe celluloid pickguard, ebony nut. Expertly repaired 10” long side crack (treble side) with no finish touchup. We reset the neck, did a compression fret job (complete refret) and a full setup with new bone saddle. The original ebony nut is still in place. This is a very loud guitar, with a pleasantly boxy tone (i.e. boxy, but in a good way), that shines when fingerpicked. It’s got the tone for old time blues, so if that is the sound you have in your head, look no further. Comes with a recent hard shell case.
